Following a premium suede construction-focused The North Face team-up, Supreme has now readied its latest major collaboration for Fall 2023 with Blackmeans. Established in 2008 by Yujiro Komatsu, Tomoko Moriya, and brothers Takamoto and Masatomo Ariga, the Japanese imprint specializes in leather goods. Derived from “burakumin”, a term referring to 18th-century Japanese leatherworkers, Blackmeans explores hardcore punk subculture through the lens of traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Blackmeans is best known for its array of leather jackets and hand-mended pants that reference both pop culture and Japanese history.
The Supreme x Blackmeans Fall 2023 collaboration continues the Japanese label’s interpretation of punk staples marked with a meticulous standard of construction and quality. The collection is comprised of a hand-painted Leather Motorcycle Jacket, a hand-mended Sweater and Jean, a T-Shirt, a hand-painted Leather Belt, and a Lighter Case Keychain.
The Supreme x Blackmeans Fall 2023 collaboration will see a global release via the streetwear imprint December 7, 11 a.m. EDT in the United States and December 9, 11 a.m. JST in Japan and Seoul.
