Surprise — Shawn Mendes has new music on the way! On Nov. 30, the 23-year-old singer shared a snippet of the upcoming single, titled “It’ll Be Okay,” on his Instagram, and it sounds a whole lot like a breakup song. In the clip, Mendes sings, “Are we gonna make it? / Is this gonna hurt?” The track is expected to drop on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. EST.
While Mendes didn’t reveal any other details about the song, fans can’t help but wonder if the track is about his recent split from Camila Cabello. The couple were together for two years before they announced they were going their separate ways in a joint statement on Instagram on Nov. 17. “Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever,” the post read. “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward.” Guess we’ll just have to wait to hear the whole song when it drops on Wednesday.
