It’s all in the details…As we patiently await the much-anticipated Oprah interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, we can’t help but analyze every little detail in the first look at the interview that was released Sunday night during CBS’s 60 Minutes episode. One thing we noticed, in particular, was the diamond bracelet Meghan wore. Does it look familiar? Well, it was Princess Diana’s, and we have a feeling the choice to wear it symbolizes a lot more than just its fashion statement.
The first look may have been short, but oh, did it hint at what surely would be a hot topic of discussion. Although it has been rumored that the interview will focus around Meghan and Harry’s exit, signs suggest that Princess Diana’s struggles with the press will be front and center. Harry says numerous things hinting at his mother’s experience with the press, and in the first clip released, he told Oprah, “My biggest concern was history repeating itself.” He went on in the second video to share that he “can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like for her going through this process by herself all those years ago because it has been unbelievably tough for the two of us, but at least we had each other.”
So, does the choice of the tennis bracelet further symbolize just how much the couple wanted to highlight Diana’s experience? According to People, Meghan wore the bracelet so that Diana could be there with them in spirit during the interview, but it may also be a hint that she’s going to be part of their discussion.
All we can say is that we’ll be glued to the TV during this two-hour special. From its newly extended length to the message Queen Elizabeth will release just hours before the interview drops, this just keeps getting juicier and juicer. These recent Princess Diana connections only make us more intrigued to see what secrets could be revealed about the royal family and their experiences in the public eye.
