When the King of Pop Michael Jackson passed away in 2009, his three kids, Prince Michael Jackson, Prince Michael Jackson II (formerly known as “Blanket,” now known as “Bigi”) and Paris Jackson, were really young. At the time, the eldest, Prince, was just 12 years old while the youngest, Bigi, was just seven. And though many years have passed since that moment, and all three of them have found their own paths since, we can’t help but think of them as the young kids mourning their father.
So, of course, when we see them in any public event, we always feel a sense of pride and keep telling ourselves “they look so grown up!” And, as it turns out, that’s precisely what happened in Prince and Bigi’s latest outing as they honored what would’ve been their father’s 65th birthday.
In the pictures, obtained by the Daily Mail, the two were seen taking pictures with fans at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas after a showing of Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque du Soleil. What a sweet way to remind themselves of their dad’s legacy!
In the pictures, Prince kept it casual with a gray T-shirt, blue jeans, sneakers, a baseball cap, and a crossbody bag while Blanket wore a short-sleeved black button-down with matching pants and shoes. Given Bigi’s ultra-private life, this is the first time the public has seen him in a while, and definitely the first time with long hair!
MJ’s third kid Paris did not join her brothers in Vegas as she’s been busy going on tour with her band Incubus. She did, however, post about her father’s birthday on Instagram alongside a video of her speaking to a crowd in her concert.
“It’s also my dad’s birthday and he would’ve been 65 years old today,” she told the audience, who cheered when she spoke of Michael’s name. “He put 50 years of blood, sweat and tears and love and passion into doing what he did so that I could stand up here on stage in front of you and scream into a microphone,” she continued. “So I owe everything to him.”
Looks like Michael Jackson’s kids are doing their best in keeping their dad’s memory alive!
