Meghan Markle Officially Pulled the Plug on This Rebrand Strategy After Months of Speculation

Many fans were shocked and confused when it was announced that Meghan Markle’s Grace Award-winning podcast Archetypes was canceled after one season. However, soon after, insiders claimed that she was still shopping around for another platform to stream the beloved show, as a part of her highly speculated rebrand strategy.

After the show was axed in June 2023, Archewell allegedly “revived” its trademark bid for the Archetypes podcast title with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). However, after 17 months of trying to get it protected, they recently withdrew it, per DailyMail.

During Meghan’s quest for her rebrand, she and Prince Harry’s nonprofit Archewell began the battle to trademark the name in March 2022. However, per DailyMail, it was rejected in Jan 2023 because of the “likelihood of confusion” it would cause since the word was already trademarked by another company years prior.

Archetypes was already registered by the US-based company Project Miracle IP Holdings in May 2018, and they still have it registered today.

While Archwell tried to fight it, they eventually withdrew their trademark application in Sept 2023.

Now, many are wondering what Meghan’s rebrand will entail, whether it’s continuing her and Harry’s Netflix-producing duties, going back to acting, or being a lifestyle blogger like before.
