Canadian R&B duo Majid Jordan made its anticipated return to the music scene in September with “Waiting For You” with fellow OVO Sound artist Naomi Sharon. Now, Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman are following it up with another dreamy melodic experience. On “Hands Tied”, the Toronto pairing tells a love story in nearly six minutes of heavenly listening.
“This is a story about how, in traditional environments, love is a way of connecting,” Majid Jordan shared in an Instagram caption. “It depicts a young couple whose hands are tied but they are deeply in love and taking risks to be together. When they are in each other’s presence, everything softens, like sunlight on the water. In private, they reveal more about themselves than they have ever revealed to anyone else in society. The man is happy that he found someone so peaceful and the woman is happy she found someone that makes her feel safe enough to be herself.”
While the pairing’s imminent album Good People has no official release date yet, Majid Jordan will also embark upon an extensive world tour in support of the album, which kicks off November 26 in Vancouver. See the full list of dates and venues in the Instagram post below.
