Madonna has returned to social media following her recent hospitalization for a serious bacterial infection, and fans are still concerned for the queen of pop’s health.
“’A single rose can be my garden. A single friend my world.’ Thank You,” Madonna captioned an image of herself smelling a large bouquet of pink roses, seemingly bare-faced. While many people commented on how amazing she looks, others criticized Madonna for allegedly using heavy filters on the photo.
“How many filters dies one need yo make them look as though they are 12 years old,” asked one person in the comments. “That’s NOT Madonna,” another simply stated, presumably alluding to the 64-year-old’s wrinkle-free face.’ wrinkle-free face.
The debate surrounding celebrities using filters and and image-altering software isn’t by any means a new one. Many rightfully call out the harmful standards altered images set, while others note that the immense amount of pressure women face to appear forever young applies to all women, even rich and famous ones like Madonna.
“There’s a group of nosey individuals who comment on her looks rather than sending good vibes and that she’s doing well,” noted one astute fan. “You must be seriously fkn miserable to go straight to pointing out things that aren’t any of your concerns! Grow up and learn some manners. I for one send out only The Best & ❤️🩹”
Still, this isn’t the first time Madonna has been called out for drastically altering her image. Back in 2021, she was called out for posting a photo of her face photoshopped onto a TikTok influencer’s body.
