Lanvin has returned to its eye-catching Curb sneaker for a new range of color options. The sneaker’s oversized tongue and chunky construction reference its 1990s skateboarding influence, and particularly a nod to the Osiris D3, while the laces on each pair are inspired by woven accessories used with Japanese kimonos.
For the latest release, Lanvin has kept its classic black, white and pink colorways, which are now complemented by a host of new designs. Stand-out colorways include a navy blue design with contrasting red patterned laces, and another that mixes tonal beige notes with a bright yellow underlayer.
Discussing the sneaker — which was chosen by 24kGoldn chose in his recent “Sole Mates” interview — Lanvin creative director Bruno Sialelli said, “I want to create characters and dress them in their imaginary everyday lives. For the Winter 2020 collection, I imagined skateboarders as they were captured in Hugh Holland’s photos. These sneakers were, in my opinion, the most evident and relevant pieces to correctly represent and understand these characters.”
