Japanese retailer 1LDK has an inclusive approach to fashion. Operated by I.D. Land Company, the boutique offers a rich selection of understated domestic brands (Cantate, Digawel, Kaptain Sunshine), various international imprints (Frank Leder, E.Tautz, Studio Nicholson) and even its own in-house labels (UNIVERSAL PRODUCTS, I) with the only unifying element being an element of versatile, effortless apparel. This motif informs 1LDK’s latest collaboration, a joint effort with Reebok that quietly remixes the timeless Reebok Club C 85.
In a similar vein to JJJJOUND and Patta, 1LDK branding takes over Reebok‘s lateral side “window,” though the tongue tag remains relatively untouched. Instead, the shoe now boasts a minimalist white upper, keeping the upper entirely tonal down to the suede mudguard. Even the midsole and sockliner are executed in matching pale shades, contrasting starkly against the rich navy outsole. This matches one of the two included sets of laces, allowing for minimal visual transformation.
1LDK’s web store and physical stores — not including the recently shuttered Parisian outpost — will receive the subtle Reebok sneaker on April 3, retailing for ¥14,300 JPY (approximately $130 USD).
