James Corden reveals wild Jennifer Lopez stunt axed from The Late Late Show

James Corden has revealed a wild stunt involving Jennifer Lopez that he had planned for The Late Late Show, and it’s not what we were expecting.

The 44-year-old Carpool Karaoke host is leaving the programme after nearly eight years, with just a handful of episodes to go.

And he’s still got some surprises up his sleeve, with sketches involving Kim Kardashian and Tom Cruise in the works.

Talking about the show coming to an end, James said: ‘It’s everything I ever wanted this show to be.’

‘It feels incredibly strange and it’s an unnatural feeling to walk away from something that you love so much.

‘It’s not right, because you’re having such a great time. But at the same time, I’m so certain it’s the right thing to do.

‘I think it’s important to go out in the manner than we came in.’

James’ comments came on Sunday evening on stage at The Late Late Show with James Corden panel at the PaleyFest LA, where he added to press including Variety that certain sketches were left out of the programme.

One of those, the publication notes, included James and J-Lo living together in a glass box for a day over Sunset Boulevard.

Unfortunately, it didn’t go ahead due to J-Lo’s schedule.

On Thursday, April 27 at 12.37am ET/PT, CBS will broadcast the final hour of the series, as well as air a primetime special earlier in the evening, at 10pm.

CBS, which broadcasts the show in the United States, said additional details for the special would be announced over the next few weeks, as well as the guests who would be appearing across the final two months of the program.

James previously spoke about his decision to leave the show, telling Drew Barrymore: ‘Look it’s not easy in any way to walk away from something that is so… I mean I’ll never work in a better environment than the one I work in now.

‘Nothing about leaving the show was to do with not enjoying it. I love it, but the truth is it became a very easy decision because I always knew it was an adventure and I never ever considered it to be the final destination.’

The Late Late Show with James Corden airs on CBS in the US.
