When it comes to the all-red outfit, there’s perhaps no one on this planet that’s more associated with this look than Kanye West. We’ve seen the creative genius rock an all-red suit at the GRAMMYs, release his now extremely high-priced Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” and even bust out an Akira-inspired Gap Round Jacket at his first DONDA listening event in Atlanta. And now, that energy is being delivered onto his popular adidas YEEZY FOAM RNNR in the form of a bold “Vermillion” colorway.
Like the aforementioned Nike sneakers, this forthcoming iteration is flooded with an all-red paint job, making it the first-ever makeup that West has made with adidas to be presented in this fashion. Its namesake is derived from a bright red pigment that comes from mercury sulfide or cinnabar. Construction-wise, these Kanye-designed clogs stick to its signature materials by being manufactured with EVA foam — some of which contains algae — and has various oval-shaped holes that are punched out throughout the upper.
Early reports have these dropping sometime in October 2021 — which is most likely a nod to his “Red October” — but adidas has not confirmed this yet. Retail price will be the standard $80 USD.
