The Recording Academy has announced that the 2022 Grammy Awards will take place on April 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show, which begins at 8 p.m. ET, was rescheduled from its original January date due to concerns surrounding the COVID pandemic.
The event will mark the first time that the award show has been held in a location outside of Los Angeles or New York since 1973, when the Grammys took place in Nashville, Tennessee. The telecast will also mark the first time the Grammys have been held in a location where the Recording Academy does not house a chapter.
This year’s Grammys will occur at the latest point in the calendar year since the seventh annual award show, which was held on April 13, 1965, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
The show, which will be produced by Fulwell 73 Productions for the Recording Academy, will be hosted by Trevor Noah for the second consecutive year.
Among the highest awards, Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, SZA, Lil Nas X and several others are up for Record of the Year, while Finneas, Glass Animals, Olivia Rodrigo, The Kid Laroi, Saweetie and more are nominated for Best New Artist.
