We started to notice a curious trend as COVID-19 swept the globe and lockdowns followed: more and more celebrity pregnancies popping up to celebrate. Maybe it’s just that pandemic-induced boredom made us more tuned in to these announcements, but we could swear there was something in the air last year that made our favorite stars want to grow their families. Or, maybe they just ran out of things to do at home like the rest of us. Either way, we’re halfway through 2021, and all those pandemic babies are starting to say aloha, with Jenny Slate, Stassi Schroeder, Princess Eugenie, and — of course — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle all welcoming new babies to the world.
Every star has their own way of introducing the news to the world. Eugenie welcomed the arrival of her and husband Jack Brooksbank’s son with a black-and-white photo showing his tiny baby hand wrapped around mom’s thumb; Schroeder had several pre- and post-birth photoshoots planned, and Rose Leslie and Kit Harington just allowed themselves to be spotted out on a casual stroll.
