After unveiling the company’s first-ever electric car as a concept back in August last year, Cadillac has now finally debuted the production model of the Lyriq.
Retaining most of the original concept’s design aesthetics, the current Lyriq uses the same Ultium platform from GM as the new electric Hummer. It carries a 12-module, 100kWh battery pack pushing out 340 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque through the rear wheels, and can make a range of more than 300 miles on one full charge. With DC fast charging support, the car will also pack on 76 miles of range in just 10 minutes, while another 19.2kW charging module will give it a reasonable 52 miles per hour of charging.
Of course, like other modern EVs, the Lyriq is also jam-packed with tech gadgets and features. Accompanying a 33-inch LED display is an AKG audio system using 19 speakers, next-generation Active Noise Cancelling, KeyPass digital keys, and Cadillac’s very own hands-free Super Cruise driver-assistance feature.
For those interested, Cadillac will begin taking reservations for the Lyriq in September at a base price of $59,990 USD.
