Benny The Butcher has released a brand new track entitled “Welcome to the States,” which hears him hop on The Alchemist‘s beat for Kendrick Lamar‘s Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers cut “We Cry Together.”
The Black Soprano Family founder’s brutally honest bars touch on racism and gun violence in America, while the song’s accompanying monochromatic music video includes clips of KKK marches, the recent mass shooting in his home of Buffalo, New York, protests and politicians. At the end, he urges his listeners to support the community of Buffalo and make a donation to the Buffalo 5/14 Survivors Fund.
In addition, Benny The Butcher is releasing a T-shirt for the Buffalo Survivors Fund that remembers the 10 victims from the May 14 shooting at the Tops Friendly Markets in Buffalo. Priced at $40 USD each, all of the profits will go to the Buffalo Survivors Fund.
Watch the visual for Benny The Butcher’s “Welcome to the States” above and purchase the T-shirt on the Black Soprano Family webstore.
Elsewhere in music, Post Malone announced a Twelve Carat Toothache listening experience.
