Bad Bunny Closes 2022 With Record-Breaking Tour Gross, Amassing Over $435M USD

After being declared Spotify’s most-streamed artist of 2022, Bad Bunny is continuing to break records as the year comes to a close. The Puerto Rican artist has set the world record for the highest grossing tour in a calendar year, amassing $435.38 million USD across 81 shows.

That number surpasses the previous record, set by Ed Sheeran in 2018, who brought in $432.3 million USD for his global Divide tour.

Bad Bunny began the World’s Hottest Tour on August 5 in Orlando and just completed the months-long global run over the weekend, delivering two back-to-back shows on December 9 and December 10 at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium. According to Pollstar, the artist made over $10 million USD from those two shows alone.

World’s Hottest Tour marked his second worldwide tour of 2022. Earlier in the year, Bad Bunny embarked on the sold-out El Último Tour Del Mundo. The 36-date run began in Denver in February and wrapped up in Miami in early April.

“I think we all feel very proud of what he’s accomplished. It’s a feat that is remarkable,” SVP of Global Touring at Live Nation Hans Schafer told Pollstar. “It is huge for Latin music and unprecedented and a remarkable accomplishment on its own, regardless of genre, to see an artist of his age reaching those heights is just something that makes it very promising for us, of what the future holds.”

In other music news, Young Dolph’s team will posthumously release his completed LP Paper Route Frank.
