On Sunday, October 24, the 50-year-old rapper announced the heartbreaking news on his Instagram account. Alongside a beautiful photograph of Beverly, who wore red dress and matching hat, he wrote, “Thank u god for giving me an angel for a mother. TWMA.”

In a separate post, Snoop, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., shared a photo of him and his late mom together. “Mama thank u for having me,” so the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper captioned his post. His father, Vernell, also confirmed the news and asked for prayers, noting the family needed it now more than ever.

In the comment section, many of his celebrity pals expressed their condolences. “I’m so sorry Uso. All our Johnson love and mana sent you and your family’s way,” wrote Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, while Cardi B added, “Sorry uncle Snoop. Love and peace to your family.” In the meantime, “Jersey Shore” star JWoww penned, “So sorry for your loss.”

“Love you King!!!! Prayers prayers and more covers over you and your family!” commented Tyrese Gibson. Lizzo also chimed in, “Love u big bro. Your family is in my prayers [love emoji].” Meanwhile, Bow Wow wrote, “Love you unc! Stay strong! God bless the family! #love.”

Snoop first let his fans and friends know about his mother’s health scare in early May. At the time, he shared via Instagram, “Sending special prayers out for my mom this morning y’all pray for her and me.”

In a follow-up post, Snoop said, “Gotta stay strong, keep pushing on. They say God don’t put nothing on your shoulders you can’t handle.” He added in his video, “I’m being tested right now, ya’ll. Make sure ya’ll pray for me and my family.”

Then in July, Snoop shared a positive update on Beverly’s condition, noting that she’s “still fighting.” Alongside a picture that saw him and his mom in a hospital room, the “Gin & Juice” spitter wrote, “Happy Sunday me and my brothers went to c mama today and she opened up her eyes to c us and let us know she still fighting.” He then thanked God and his fans for their prayers, “God is good thanks for all the prayers 1 day at a time.”
