Actress Rebel Wilson has enjoyed a highly-publicized weight loss journey over the past year, ultimately losing 60 pounds according to Prevention. How’d she do it? Good old fashioned diet and exercise, per the star, who has documented much of her progress on Instagram.
Of course, getting healthy is a great goal, one that Wilson has proudly discussed on her social media. “I’m going to start 2021 in an amazing place, with a healthy body and mind…and boosted immune system!” she shared in one post.
But it turns out that Wilson also discovered a sad side effect of losing weight over the course of her journey, which she discussed on an Australian radio show recently. “I think what’s been really interesting is how other people treat you,” the actress noted (via Hollywood Life). But what she shared next was really kind of disturbing.

Unfortunately, Wilson revealed in the radio interview, “Sometimes being bigger, people didn’t necessarily look twice at you.” She also shared about her more recent experiences, “Now that I’m in good shape, people offer to carry my groceries to the car and hold doors open for you.”
Meanwhile, the star said she is surprised by how much people actually care about her “weight loss transformation” given how many other things there are to focus on in today’s world.
Of course, that said, Wilson is clearly very proud of her new body. Still, she wants people to focus on other things, posting via her Instagram just this week, “Rather than step on the scale, look at yourself in the mirror and be like ‘dammmm girrrrrl …you’re smart and talented and accomplished and perfect just the way you are.'” In another recent post, she shared a selfie, but then added a message about caring about what’s on the inside, too.
