‘I’ve had the most butters period!’ Professor Green gives health update as he shares hospital bound snap after having ‘work on his stomach’
Professor Green took to Instagram on Friday to give fans a health update after having some ‘work on his stomach’, while sharing a snap seemingly from the hospital.
The rapper, 39, revealed he’s had an unexpectedly ‘butters’ (meaning ugly in urban slang) period since his second round of surgery last week but is remaining hopeful for his recovery.
Having suffered chronic digestive issues since his birth, he was just a newborn baby when he had his first stomach operation for pyloric stenosis.

This meant food was unable to enter his small intestine, causing excessive projectile vomiting and potentially lethal levels of dehydration.
In his latest post, the NME winner wrote: ‘IM GETTING BETTER. I don’t look or feel like it, but a huge part of winning this was stopping doing the things that gave me temporary respite; meanwhile my health was running away from me in a car without breaks.
‘First round of work on my stomach showed some promise! I had the second round last week and I’ve had one of the most unexpectedly butters periods since, but hoping once it calms down I’ll beat the new record of no throwing up for a month (it was multiple times daily) that I achieved after the first stretching and freezing of my pyloric SPHINCTER (the muscle the keys food pass through the stomach – or in my case doesn’t).

‘The steepest learning curve has been in not getting over excited because of a good day or two and thinking I can get back to how things were, doing too much and taking one step forwards and two… ten steps back (see my last post – the beginning of over excitement).
‘So yea, feeling horrendous but also positive because I know I’m doing the right things, the necessary things to get right.
‘Thank you to everyone who checks in, who has given me the space I need, has forgiven me for being a sick note the last few years and to my family who deal with just how unpredictable this is daily whilst giving me gentle (sometimes violent) encouragement to keep moving in the right direction.
‘@steven said in an interview (not verbatim) about how everything rests on one thing, and if that thing disappears then everything else falls apart too; that thing is health, and he’s right.

‘So… health first, and everything else will follow. No distractions. I’ve pushed things back for the right reasons and am making use of the time I have to get myself 100% well and fit. Bare with me x.’
Earlier this month, Green admitted he fears ‘imposing his mistakes’ upon son Slimane and that he prays the infant ‘doesn’t suffer like he did growing up’.
The musician made the poignant confession in an exclusive interview with MailOnline, where he also revealed he felt ‘ungrateful’ after finding fame since he’d expected it would ‘absolve’ him of his past traumas.
His fiancée Karima McAdams, 37, gave birth to their first child together, 21 months, in March 2021 – with the musician confessing fatherhood is the ‘scariest thing in the world’.
Opening up: Earlier this month, Green admitted he fears ‘imposing his mistakes’ upon son Slimane and that he prays the infant ‘doesn’t suffer like he did growing up’
He said: ‘I think a lot of people try and impose too much of themselves and their mistakes on their children and I really don’t want to do that.
‘My main concern was that Slimane didn’t suffer things that I did growing up and I pray that he doesn’t, that’s why he’s incredibly healthy.
‘I had my first operation at six weeks old, you know, that was a worry for me and a concern, but he’s in amazing health.’
Stephen continued: ‘He’s not exhibiting any signs of being anxious or suffering any instability because he has mum and dad and and he’s just brilliant.

‘It’s the scariest thing in the world becoming a parent. It’s the hardest job in the world too. I guess it’s only as hard as much as you care, and I care an awful lot.
‘But with that I have to remember that I can’t project my anxieties and my problems onto him. I’ve done a lot of the work, but I realised when I had a kid that everything I thought I’d processed and dealt with I actually hadn’t.
‘And I had to deal with it all again in a new shape and new form because I was experiencing something that is a huge life event that I’d never gone through before.
‘That’s happened periodically throughout my life. When a big life event happens, you tend to have to face all the same stuff again, just from a different angle.’
