Kodak Black Defends Decision to Honor PnB Rock With Chicken and Waffles Pic

The ‘Super Gremlin’ spitter insists that he was just trying to show his ‘respect’ and his ‘love’ and ‘a little peace’ after he’s accused of being insensitive with his controversial social media post.

AceShowbizKodak Black has spoken for the first time after posting a picture of chicken and waffles to honor PnB Rock, who was fatally shot at the Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant in Inglewood, Los Angeles. During an Instagram Live, the “ZEZE” spitter defended his decision to share the photo.

The 25-year-old hip-hop star said during the livestream on Sunday, October 2, “You know, grieve and peace. I was just trying to show my respect and my love and a little peace.” He further noted that he “didn’t know” that “the Internet was going to a frenzy like that” over his post.

Kodak further explained to his 12 million followers that he “was angry” when he first learned about PnB Rock’s tragic death. “I had just woke up to s**t like that. I woke up that day when it happened,” he shared.

“That s**t just went with what everybody was saying, ‘Oh, man, she [PnB Rock’s girlfriend Stephanie Sibounheuang] posted the address [of the restaurant],’ ” Kodak added. “[People] made it seem like she posted the address or she was…something like they said.”

Though so, Kodak “[doesn’t] care about that.” The “Super Gremlin” rapper elaborated, “Like, I don’t care about your girl at fault with you. I could care less about her. But, I pay my respect, okay, you know what I’m saying? I pay my respect. Whatever.”

Kodak spoke out after he was accused of being insensitive by sharing the image of chicken and waffles. The picture was similar to PnB Rock’s girlfriend’s Instagram post a few minutes before he was killed on September 12.

Kodak’s tribute came a little over three weeks after PnB Rock was involved in the tragic incident. Shortly after PnB’s death, Kodak saluted PnB Rock and another late rapper comrade in XXXTENTACION by posting a photo of the two together. “SMH @pnbrock @xxxtentacion MY N***A @pnbrock ROCKIN THE SG CHAIN IN THIS PICTURE S**T KRAZY OUCHEA,” the emcee penned.

Kodak later blamed PnB Rock’s baby mama for the 30-year-old Philadelphia rapper’s death as she posted an Instagram Story with details of their restaurant prior to the fatal shooting. Kodak even said Stephanie should commit suicide.

“Mannn I been low all day due to a headache I had earlier so Im jus getting to the news fr. Ion usually speak on deaths! Go to funerals or nun kuz life goes on but…SMH PNB was my boy I was jus OTP wit em last night!” he wrote in an Instagram Story. “We be talkin bout him comin back out & poppin his s**t again in this rap s**t. THAT H*E MIGHT AS WEL KILL HERSELF.”

As for the shooting case, three people had been arrested and charged with the crime, including a 17-year-old who was reportedly named as the shooter. His father, Freddie Lee Trone, and stepmother, Shauntel Trone, have been designated as accomplices to the crime and its cover-up. Currently, police are seeking the fourth suspect.
