Jeremy Renner goes on first jog since horror snowplough accident

Jeremy Renner, 52, has marked a new milestone in his recovery following the horror New Year’s Day accident that left him with over 30 broken bones and in critical condition.

The Marvel star took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal he had taken his first light jog since his hospitalisation.

Jeremy shared a video of himself jogging on a Boost Microgravity Treadmill in view of his 21 million followers, whom he has been keeping updated on a regular basis.

In the caption, the film star wrote: “First attempt at a light jog with weight assisted lift for the broken tibia. Pain is progress for me.”

“It’s a new activity, right?” he could be heard saying in the clip to the person filming. He added: “It’s a new movement that I’m not used to… Walking and jogging are very different muscle groups.”

“The leg’s still broken, thank goodness for the titanium,” the Hawkeye star joked.

Last month, Jeremy made his first red carpet appearance in Los Angeles for the premiere of his new Disney+ series Rennervations.

Still in recovery, Jeremy walked with a cane while holding hands with his adorable 10-year-old daughter, Ava.

The actor looked very dapper in a fitted navy blue suit, styled with a matching tie and white shirt.

Meanwhile, Ava, whom Jeremy shares with his ex-wife Sonni Pacheo, matched her father in a blue dress and silver sparkling sandals.

Jeremy spent some of his time being aided by a scooter, flashing a thumbs-up to photographers as he headed down the blue carpet.

The actor admitted the premiere was the first time he’d been out of bed and away from rehab.

He told PEOPLE: “It’s intense, you know, for me, it’s a lot, but it’s a step in the direction I want to be going, right? And this is exactly what I want to be doing and exactly where I want my life to be right now.”

He also revealed Ava was a “big part” of the design of some of the buses on his show.

This comes as Jeremy’s sports physician revealed one of Jeremy’s “strongest motivators” influencing his recovery was in fact, Ava.
