Jake Quickenden has hit back at critics who slammed him for posting pictures of Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt’s wedding before the newlyweds had confirmed their nuptials.

The Love Island stars, who met on series three of the ITV2 dating show back in 2017, tied the knot on Thursday in a beautiful ceremony attended by friends and family, including fellow islander Marcel Somerville and former X Factor star Jake.

However, nobody knew about the wedding until Jake, 33, posted stories and pictures from the big day.

The Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins star shared videos throughout the day, including a clip of Camilla, 32, and Jamie, 31, making their entrance as husband and wife.

He also posted a picture with the bride and groom, plus his girlfriend Sophie Church, Marcel and his partner Rebecca Vieira, writing: ‘Wonderful day, and such a beautiful ceremony. You scrub up  @jamiejewitt_  and  @camillathurlow you look incredible.’

Many people flooded the comments section to criticise Jake for sharing live pictures from the day when neither Camilla nor Jamie had posted pictures on Instagram.

One person wrote: ‘Love watching u jake but was it OK to post before the bride did??’, while another commented: ‘Beautiful pics of everyone but maybe the bride and groom might be the best ones to get in there first.’

Jake hit back on his stories, with Jamie confirming that his friend had asked for permission.

The singer said: ‘Just for anyone asking, I did ask for permission, didn’t I?’, with Jamie, looking dapper in a three-piece suit and tie, saying: ‘It’s our wedding day and it’s fine, everyone. Leave the man alone.’

Jake said: ‘Thank you’, before sticking his middle finger up at the camera.

He later added: ‘Why do people just find any reason to be negative or to moan or to have have an opinion when they don’t know what’s gone on? They don’t know that it said on the table to share photos and use a hashtag. They don’t know that permission was asked.

‘Please, please, if you see something and you don’t know the full story, don’t comment, because it’s utterly boring.’

Jake shared a snap from his table at the wedding and showed a place setting which read: ‘Please share photos of our special day using our hashtag #JustJewitt.’

At the time of writing, Jake was the only person to have used the #JustJewitt hashtag on an Instagram post.

However, Marcel, 36, also posted videos from the day to his stories, including a clip of Camilla and Jamie being showered with confetti after making it official.

Camilla and Jamie are the third couple from Love Island to get married, following series two winners Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey, and runners up Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen.

The pair welcomed their first child together, a daughter called Nell, in October 2020, and little Nell was present on her mum and dad’s big day.

Former Calvin Klein model Jamie popped the question in February this year.
