A royal reporter is speaking out about how Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (aka Kate Middleton) might feel about the story coming out about who made who cry during wedding planning.
If you missed it, during Oprah with Meghan and Harry, Meghan Markle clarified a story told in the press ahead of her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry. It was said that Meghan made Kate cry over flower girl dresses.
In the interview, Meghan said that actually, she was the one who cried and the Palace never corrected the story.
Royal reporter Katie Nicholl told UK’s OK! magazine that Duchess Kate “has never wanted any suggestion of a rift with Meghan to come out in the press.”
“Kate is so discreet and respects her personal life. You never hear about her falling out with anyone because she is very careful with how she treats others,” she said. “So for this story to be circulating is very hard.”
“Kate felt [the incident] was all sorted, so to have it brought up again was mortifying,” she added.
Meghan clarified in the interview that Duchess Kate apologized and she was forgiven.
“She apologized, and I’ve forgiven her. What was hard to get over was being blamed for something that not only I didn’t do, but that happened to me,” Meghan told Oprah. “She’s a good person. I think so much of what I’ve seen play out is this idea of polarity. If you love her, you don’t need to hate me.”
Prince William broke his silence on the allegations made against the royals.
