Amanda Owen takes week off social media after ‘five-year affair allegations’

Amanda Owen has appeared to make a decision to take a week off from social media after it was alleged that she has been having an affair for five years.

The Our Yorkshire Farm star and farmer, 48, who shares nine children with her estranged husband Clive Owen, 68, has embarked on a romance with lover Robert Davies.

But Davies' now-estranged wife Yasumi has broken her silence on the reports, and claimed that he and Amanda first started seeing each other five years ago when he started working with the Owen family to take their business online.

Following the scandal, Amanda went dark on Instagram, and has seemingly been trying to keep her online presence low-key until things calm down.

The last time Amanda posted anything to her social media was six days ago, as she shared a collection of snaps of four of her children.

Enjoying one of the sunniest days in the UK in March, Amanda captured memories of the kids foraging and looking at some of nature's beauty as as they explored around the farmland.

"Budding naturalists, botanists, ecologists, ornithologists, hydrologists, geologists. And farmers," the mum-of-nine captioned her sweet post.

The girls wore their hair in pigtail plaits, combined with sweats and leggings for the brisk spring weather, and in one image one of Amanda's youngsters got into the stream with her wellies on.

At one point, one of the star's sons also waded through the rocks as he shielded his eyes against the sunshine.

It comes as Amanda has been navigating some drama in her romantic life following 71 year old Robert's estranged wife Yasumi's comments, as she claimed she discovered the affair last year after finding a note, key chain and necklace at her home.

Yasumi told The Sun she found a note, allegedly handwritten by mum-of-nine Amanda, last March, which read: “Robert, life is too short & happiness is too rare. I love you.”

OK! contacted representatives for Amanda Owen.

Yasumi, who is an investment banker from Tokyo, said she recognised the handwriting to be Amanda's after noticing it was the same as the writing in a signed copy of the shepherdess' new book.

She then found some jewellery allegedly belonging to Amanda in a box in hers and Robert's bedroom, which included a necklace Amanda had previously worn on TV. The necklace read: "Together forever".

Yasumi then discovered a keychain, with the words: "Unbridled love. R & A" engraved on it.

The investment banker, who wed Robert on Christmas Day in 2011 after a whirlwind romance, eventually confronted her husband and he instantly confessed to betraying her with Amanda.

Recalling what happened, Yasumi told The Sun: “He rang Amanda in front of me and told her I knew about their affair and that it was over.

“He said they’d been having an affair for a few years. But instead of acknowledging the pain I was suffering, he was more concerned about protecting her TV career."

She also claimed Amanda "didn't care" how she felt and didn't show "any compassion".

Yasumi said she first noticed a sudden change in Robert's behaviour back in 2018, when he began working with the Owen family on their farming website.

She noticed her husband "didn't look happy anymore" and knew "something was wrong" but added that she regrets not discussing this with Robert at the time.
