This Morning star Sharon Marshall, 49, has shared that Alison Hammond, 46, stepped in to offer her help after she suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage. The presenter had a “massive breakdown” live on air after presenting a segment on babies in 2015.

Sharon labelled Alison “the most beautiful soul” for making such a selfless offer.

The entertainment journalist was also comforted by media personalities Amanda Holden and Gok Wan at the time.

“There was one day, just after I’d had a miscarriage, and there was an item on the show about the most beautiful babies in Britain,” she told OK! Magazine.

“I had a massive breakdown and confided in Amanda Holden and Gok Wan who were hosting that day.

“They were so lovely and Amanda told me to go and get counselling, which I did.

“I got the loveliest message from her when I got pregnant.”

Sharon suffered two miscarriages across seven rounds of IVF.

But despite the tragic experiences, Sharon did not give up and is now mum to three-year-old daughter Betsey.

Six months into her pregnancy with Betsey, Sharon woke up bleeding in the middle of the night and had to receive medical treatment.

Healthcare professionals were able to control the bleed and Sharon was able to carry Betsey full-term.

Sharon told The Sun the discovery was terrifying, and she thought something was not right.

She said: “When I saw the blood it put the fear of god into me.

“My blood pressure was massively high and I thought I was going to have to give birth months earlier than expected.

“Before she was born I was convinced something was going to go wrong.

“Until Betsey was actually put in my arms and I heard her let out the most almighty yell, I always felt like someone was going to say it’s all going to be taken away from me.”

Alison, who is a mother to a teenage boy, has revealed her pride over her son Aidan.

Remembering the first time she saw Aiden after a C-section, Alison told the Daily Star: “It took about 35 minutes to cut through all the layers because of all mine. It’s full-on stomach surgery.”

“They lifted him up, popped him over the top.

“He was hanging over all droopy, looking at me and I was like, ‘Oh my god, I love him.’”

Alison and Aidan were both born February 5, but 30 years apart.
