I'm a flight attendant – I always follow these 5 packing tips to make my holiday MUCH easier

A FLIGHT attendant has revealed her top tips on how to pack for your holiday like a professional.

After two years of travel restrictions, millions of Brits are expected to enjoy a summer holiday in the sunshine – so take note of these smart hacks.

According to Emirates cabin crew member, Rhiannon Corbett, the very first step when it comes to packing your suitcase is to make a list.

While it may seem fairly obvious, Rhiannon says: "A packing checklist is essential, as it will not only help you save time packing, but it will also cut down on the possibility of forgetting anything important needed for your travels."

Rhiannon also suggests packing with plenty of time ahead of your trip, rather than leaving it to the last minute.

This way you're less likely to forget anything and means stress levels will be much lower going into your well-deserved getaway.

Rhiannon also suggests checking the weather forecast for your destination before you start packing – just to make sure you don't pack any unnecessary items.

She suggests: "Try to pack versatile items which can be used in more than one way, like clothes that are flexible enough to cover a variety of situations – this is a smart way to keep your packing list to a minimum and give yourself enough room for everything you need."

Rhiannon also swears by rolling clothes, rather than folding. This should maximise available space in your suitcase.

She added: "Do try to use packing cubes, they are a great way to compress your clothing and accessories to maximise space, organise your items and prevent items moving around while travelling.

"Wear your heaviest items rather than packing them. Wearing your bulky items such as coats and jackets can help save up crucial space in your suitcase!"

Rhiannon then stressed the importance of not over packing.

She said: "Pack only what you actually intend to use, any items you forget or emergency items can usually be purchased at the destination of your travel."

Rhiannon also argues that leaving some extra space in your baggage will mean you can treat yourself to more holiday shopping, without having to worry if you can fit it all in on the return journey.

Her fourth tip is to use travel-friendly refillable bottles for your toiletries, explaining: "Not only are they good for the environment, but they also prevent you from taking more product than you really need! Don't forget to label them with a smudge-proof pen.

"Keep your toiletries in a clear cosmetic bag. Choosing a waterproof cosmetic bag will not only make it easier to see everything you have packed, but it will prevent any spills from leaking into the rest of your bag."

Rhiannon's final top tip for packing ahead of your summer holiday was to bring a good book with you.

She said: "Packing a good book is a great way to kick back and give time for yourself whilst travelling, plus it's an ideal activity to do before going to sleep."
