A FLIGHT attendant has explained the one thing passengers should always do before travelling.
Annette Long, who works as a flight attendant in the US, said using your airline's app is a way to prevent you from any unexpected problems or delays.
She wrote on Quora: "Download your airline’s phone app.
"That will keep you posted on everything that is happening before your flight."
Most major airlines have their own app which is also great for tracking your flight.
Airlines in the UK such as British Airways, easyJet and Jet2 all have their own designated apps for passengers.

Many of them not only let you check-in via the app, but also lets you know of any delays and what gate to go to.
Some also let you track your flight in real time so you can see if any delays are to be expected before the airline tells you.
Most airlines will now accept digital boarding passes too, so the apps are good for holding your flight data to show at security and at the gate,
The one app all Brits need right now is the NHS Covid app, to show they are fully vaccinated when entering a country.

The TripAdvisor app has an added travel Safe tool so you can filter hotels and restaurants that have extra safety precautions in place.

One she said was always to always leave your shorts in your suitcase, writing: "Don’t wear shorts. Planes are usually cold, blankets are few and far between—and if you get one, it is very thin, almost worthless."
She added to always have at least an hour between connecting flights., adding: "Some of the web travel agencies will sell you a cheap ticket, but the connection is less than 45 minutes and you may flying into Newark, Atlanta, or Chicago and have to change terminals…and you won’t make it."
