Cheapest Airbnb in England revealed – costing just £9 a night | The Sun

THE cheapest Airbnb in England has been revealed and it offers couples a beach getaway for just £9 per night.

With travel costs soaring and airports battling huge queues, cancelled flights and mountains of lost luggage this summer, lots of people are opting for UK holidays.

Cash-strapped Brits struggling to find cheap accommodation during peak season can stay just two miles from the beach for less than a tenner per night.

The Airbnb near Herne Bay, Kent, offers a private double room with a double bed, small desk and shared bathroom.

It even comes with a continental breakfast, as well as use of the kitchen for those wanting to make their own meals.

The room, hosted by Juliet in her home in the village of Herne, is two miles from the seaside town of Herne Bay and seven miles from Canterbury.

Host Juliet says there are "nice country walks" nearby too.

The listing reads: "I have other guests staying with me from time to time and it is a shared bathroom.

"I do not have a dining area but if the weather is fine it is ok to eat al fresco as I have garden chairs and table.

"No tv in room but there is an aerial point."

A week's stay in the Airbnb costs £74 for two people including an £11 service fee.

However, there is a seven-night minimum stay in the room, meaning weekend visitors to the area will have to look elsewhere.

Nevertheless, the room still represents good value for money, with other places in the area charging their guests over ten times more per night for a stay.

Anyone wanting to splash out on a sea view cottage in Herne Bay can do for £363 per night.

Meanwhile, a night in a shepherd's hut in nearby Denstroude will set you back £96.
