Mexico
Right now you can bag a package deal to the tropical tourist town of Cancun from 799pp, and be sunning yourself on the Riviera’s white sands this winter.
Popular with Instagrammers and influencers, the nearby scenic city of Playa del Carmen is ideal for a warming break, with deals from £759pp all-inclusive early next Spring.
To the south, peaceful Tulum is an alternative place to stay on the Riviera Maya with a dazzling bay and turquoise blue sea overlooked by an ancient Mayan temple.
Currently, travellers to Mexico need to register here before boarding their flight and show the QR code at the airport, but don't need to be vaccinated.
Thailand
Tour operators have lots of tempting offers to take you to the beautiful beaches of Brit favourite Thailand too.
A week at a smart hotel in stunning Krabi, for instance, is a snip of the usual peak season price from £899pp.
Travellers to Thailand are currently required to apply for permission to travel via the Royal Thai Government's online portal and register with the no-quarantine Phuket Sandbox and Samui Plus scheme.
Vaccinated travellers must currently have a negative PCR test on arrival in Thailand, taken within 72 hours of travel, and are required to take up to 3 PCR tests while quarantining at their resort for 14 days.
From November 1, Brits will be able to just take a pre-arrival test and then a second test on arrival in Thailand, and won't have to quarantine if they are fully vaccinated.
Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is set to get back on track as a rising star of the travel world after it was removed from the UK’s no-go list in the recent government update.
The island nation in the Indian Ocean has become popular for its tropical beaches and upscale resorts complemented by exotic wildlife and incredible cultural attractions.
Mercury Holidays will take you on an unforgettable trip to the island from as little as £663pp while TUI currently has holidays to Sri Lanka this winter from £880pp.
Vaccinated travellers can holiday in Sri Lanka without testing or quarantine, but the authorities require paper proof of vaccination status on arrival and will not accept the digital version.
Holidaymakers also need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation before travelling to Sri Lanka.
South Africa
Meanwhile, South Africa is back on the travel radar after also being removed from the UK’s no-go list last week.
Travellers keen for a safari can once again take a big trip to see the big game in Kruger National Park.
It’s good news for fans of Cape Town too, with its beaches, Winelands and famous Table Mountain once again accessible to visitors this winter.
BA Holidays currently has some great deals to South Africa from £612pp or check out Expedia’s range of package holidays from £623pp.
For entry to South Africa, travellers will need to present a paper copy of a negative PCR covid test taken within 72 hours of arrival.
All Brits returning to the UK from a country not on the red list – which includes all of the previous destinations – must pre-book a Covid test to be taken on day two of their arrival back in the UK, and enter the details on their Passenger Locator Form before arriving.
