A major hotel brand is looking for a TikTok correspondent to visit 10 locations

After a new gig that lets you travel the world? This could be the one.

Major hotel brand Marriott Bonvoy is looking to hire three people to be their official TikTok correspondents in 2022.

Every correspondent will get to have ten luxury stays in the Marriott’s portfolio of hotels, which also includes the Westin, Moxy Hotels, and St Regis and the Ritz-Carlton, as well as one of the over 50,000 luxury home rentals listed on Homes & Villas by Marriott International.

They will then take videos and share content on the official Marriott Bonvoy TikTok and report on the benefits of being a member of the hotel brand’s membership programme.

Not only will you get a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to travel to gorgeous locations, creating content for TikTok, and show off your unique point of view, the correspondents will be paid for their work too.

Each correspondent will get everything they need for this around-the-world trip, including a personal travel concierge, flights, local transportation, food and drink, amenities, and experiences in each destination, all of which is worth over $30,000.

The transportation will include Uber vouchers, while on-property meals, spa services, and activities will be covered by a $10,000 Marriott Bonvoy gift cad.

Travel & make TikToks. #30stays300days #contest No pur nec. 21+ 50 US/DC. Ends 3/18. Rules in bio.

The lucky three correspondents will also get a ‘Take Me Away’ kit with items from branded online retail, and progression towards Marriott Bonvoy Elite Status, which can lead to exclusive benefits like late check-out, room upgrades, and more after the initial job is over.

So even though there’s not much you’re going to need to pay for, each correspondent will receive a $15,000 stipend.

The competition, titled ’30 stays in 300 days’ is an extension of Marriott Bonvoy’s Power of Travel campaign, which was launched last year to promote travelling after Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020.

Brian Povinelli, senior vice president of brand, loyalty, and portfolio marketing at Marriott International, told Fortune Magazine: ‘As the world inches back to a place of normalcy, travel is one of those primal needs that we feel needs to be met.’

‘This initiative will amplify wanderlust and spark the motivation to travel by facilitating a true trip around the world that allows viewers and potential adventurers to experience each destination to the fullest.’

Marriott has a strong social media presence, and after joining TikTok last year, the brand says that the app is where people are at.

Povinelli said: ‘It’s what they’re paying attention to, and it reaches the audience that we are keen on engaging. TikTok, by necessity—due to the parameters of the platform—encourages would-be travellers to be creative, succinct, and brief in their appeal to be a Marriott Bonvoy TikTok Correspondent.’

The trips are flexible and people can continue working remotely for their existing day jobs while travelling if they wish.

The goal is to see each correspondent post at least once each day on the trip, about the hotel stay, the food, the locals, cultural experiences, or anything else they want people to know about the destination.

There is no prescribed length of video and the brand encourages people to let inspiration take them where it may, with energy, excitement, and optimism.

Prospective applicants must be over 21 at the time of applying and should be comfortable using social media, especially TikTok. They have until March 18 to enter.

To enter, they must create a TikTok video using the hashtags #30stays300days and #contest answering the question, ‘How has travel shaped you?’.

Three people will be selected after the deadline and their trips will begin from Spring 2022, subject to changes in Covid-19 and international travel guidelines.

Though this is a fixed-term contract, there is the possibility for a continued partnership after the first 300 days if the brand believes it would be fruitful.

There are already thousands of videos on the #30stays300days hashtag so people looking to apply should trot out the star quality and most out-there ideas when making their submissions.
