Woman boasts about saving money on handyman by using Tinder date to fit shelves

A woman admitted she is feeling chuffed after turning to her Tinder date for help when a handyman quoted her $200 (£147) to put up some shelves.

In the clip, posted on Tuesday (February 15) Nikol shows her date fixing the shelving units to the wall in her kitchen, using a measuring tape.

"When the handyman wants to charge you $200 to hang up shelves so you find someone on Tinder to do it for free," she explains in the on-screen caption.

Nikol plays the song "Major Bag Alert" in the background to joke she is now in the money, having saved so much by asking the lad to fit the shelving unpaid.

The video has been watched more than 2million times since Nikol uploaded it and it turns out using dating apps in this way is actually quite common.

One user joked: "My whole apartment is put together by different men. It is what it is. Lmaooo."

A second person quipped: "Be careful, this is how I’m marrying mine next week."

"Girl, you the real Tinder Swindler,' teased someone else.

Someone else shared: "That time this guy from Bumble renovated my bathroom in exchange for a home-cooked meal."

One woman questioned her: "Dude why don’t you learn it yourself it’s so easy?"

She replied: "I spent three days trying and then gave up."

The TikToker then further explained she lives in a brick home and would need a power tool to complete the job as well as a reliable stud-finder.

Although some people suggested a fridge magnet can locate studs by finding the screws, this does not always work because the cheap magnets are often too weak.

This comes after a man ended up helping his Tinder date give birth after she went into labour when they were meeting up for the third time.
