Woman admits to lying about OnlyFans earnings as real number ’embarrasses’ her

A former high achieving student who ditched Oxford for OnlyFans aged 18 admitted she lied about her income to avoid embarrassment.

April Opal told people she was pocketing up to £5,000 a month when she joined the explicit platform.

But the former children’s entertainer has come clean by saying the real number was closer to £800.

The 19-year-old made the revelation on TikTok to her 74,000 followers.

She made a video after one fan asked her: “Do you make as much on there as people say they do?”

Responding, she acknowledged: “I would say definitely not.

“So when I started out I was only making about £800 a month for the first couple of months and then it slowly went up.

“I was telling people I was on 3-5 grand a month because I was a bit embarrassed to admit that I would rather do this for such low income than actually go to work

“But it all worked out in the end. I probably shouldn’t have lied about it but I know there are other people that lie about it like come on.

“You can make a lot of money, don’t get me wrong, there are people making millions but the average person makes £40 a month on OnlyFans, so yeah.”

One person replied: “Everyone thinks it’s a get rich quick thing and it isn’t, we work so hard for what we get.”

Another added: “You’re so honest girl. Love you.”

A third said: “Struggle with my page but all depends on what content you put out.”

April, from Newcastle, spoke with Daily Star last month about abandoning her education for a saucier career.

She wanted to be a stem cell worker and was in talks with Oxford and Cambridge but decided to turn to OnlyFans instead.

At the time she was combining four jobs seven days a week but was still only left with £50 once her bills were paid.

And she has no regrets about becoming a racy model, telling us: “I want to be retired by the time I am 30 and I am absolutely over the moon with my decision.

“I couldn’t think of doing anything else now and I never want to work a normal job again that’s for sure. There are no regrets on my side.

“There is nothing more valuable than your time. And I have every day to myself. Don’t get me wrong, I have to work.

“I get up at 5am and I work until midnight pretty much every day replying to messages.

“People don’t see that side of it but I can get up and I can spend two hours at the gym if I want. I can spend two hours at the beach. I can do some shopping or I can see my friends. I can do that every day and I don’t have to book anything off work.

“That to me is more valuable than money, but obviously the money helps.”

She added: “I’ve not been an overnight success.

“There were months where I made £800 and it has not always been in the thousands and thousands a month but that is the direction we are heading now and that’s where I want to keep it.”
