How to wear running shoes

In another clip he shared that many people don’t know the correct way to wear running shoes.

He explained: ‘This little hole is called a heel lock, and you’re supposed to use it. It’s the same side lace falls through hole.

‘Opposite side lace goes through the loop  and heel locks.

A ‘heel lock’ style of lacing will prevent your heel from slipping out of the shoe and reduce excessive movement of your foot in the shoe. This helps reduce friction that causes blisters and excess wear.

According to the Asics website this can ensure your laces don’t become loose and prevents your heel from slipping out of the shoe.

They explained: ‘Firstly, lace shoes in the usual criss-cross pattern until the second-to-last eyelet.

‘Secondly, thread the lace through the last eyelet so that the lace comes out on the inside of the shoe, creating a loop between the last two eyelets.

‘Finish by crossing your laces and inserting them through the loops that you’ve created and pull tightly securing the shoe around your foot, and then tie shoes as normal.’
