There’s only so long for which someone can suppress their true feelings, and Neighbours’ Amy (Jacinta Stapleton) has been holding hers in for so long, she’s about to burst.
Amy has been becoming more and more miserable with Toadie’s (Ryan Moloney) impending wedding, especially as Zara (Freya Van Dyke) won’t let it drop that Amy has feelings for Toadie.
Amy has magnanimously been trying to bury her feelings, particularly with Harold (Ian Smith) questioning her over Toadie and Melanie’s (Lucinda Cowden) suitability, but will one more bit of added pressure push her to snap?
Her worst nightmare happens – she is requested to make Melanie’s wedding dress. She can’t say no, but it means not only does she then have to directly assist in the wedding, but she has also more of Melanie and Toadie’s loved up relationship thrown in her face.
Things are bubbling under the surface for a tormented Amy, who turns to Harold for support. Toadie and Mel, meanwhile, have sussed something is up but cannot put their fingers on what. That’ll be another heap of pressure piled on an already fragile Amy.
It proves too much and Amy finally cracks under the weight of her emotions.
The confession blindsides Toadie and he withdraws from Amy completely. She tries to avoid him and give the couple some space, but their confusion pushes them to search for answers about how this has come about. Amy has no intention of furnishing them with the truth and instead decides she needs to put space between them. Is Amy leaving Erinsborough? Could Toadie be feeling the same and call off his wedding?
