Aldi have served up a designer dupe that has fooled shoppers into thinking it is something far more expensive.
A 99p cleaning product is being hailed as an absolute match for a Marc Jacobs designer perfume.
While the antibacterial spray is strictly to be used on surfaces rather than on you, the spray will leave your home smelling exactly like the high-end fragrance.
The match was clocked by a shopper on Twitter who shared her findings on her own cleaning tips page.
She shared that she couldn't believe her luck when she discovered the likeness of the two scents.
The shopper said: “I cannot, I repeat, cannot get over the smell of the one on the left (they both smell lush). The whole kitchen now smells like Marc Jacobs Decadence and this is all I ever needed to make me clean more.”
The spray in question is the 99p Fabulosa disinfectant spray in Pure Opulence.
Referring to the actual fragrance name of the spray, Aldi responded: “I think you mean it smells like pure opulence? (please Kayleigh we can't have another lawsuit).”
The fragrance description reads: “an oriental floral with top notes of bergamot, ripe plum and iris, a heart of rose, Jasmin, ylang and orris and a rich powdered base of amber, patchouli, vetiver, woods, musk and vanilla.”
Marc Jacobs Decadence indeed uses similar notes of plum and iris, as well as rose, jasmine, orris and amber.
Since the comparison was drawn, the supermarket has sold more of the product than expected and it has sold out in some stores.
TikToker @charleybourne encouraged shoppers to ‘run, don’t walk to Aldi’ to buy snap up a bottle while stocks last.
The Cheshire based brand told BusinessLive that their tagline is ‘That Fabulosa Feeling’, “because it can tune into your senses and memories. It’s more than just a cleaning product, it’s about the feeling that it gives you.”
If you aren't successful in Aldi, then Amazon are currently stocking a pack of six for £5.99 with free Prime delivery.
