ScareBnB! Woman with ‘Dracula’s blood in her veins’ turns her suburban semi into rental house of horrors… so would YOU dare stay the night?
- EXCLUSIVE: Spooky Airbnb setup by woman ‘with Dracula’s blood in her veins’
- Suburban semi-detached house is modelled on Addams Family’s home
With black ceilings and hands reaching from the mirrors – this Wednesday themed Airbnb is hidden in a residential terraced house and may be the spookiest in the UK.
The Addams Family spin off – which stars Jenna Ortega and Catherine Zeta-Jones – took the world by storm after it was released on Netflix last year.
And now Camelia Andrei, 50, has turned a normal suburban terrace in York into a dramatic retelling of the spooky series.
Born in Romania – or ‘Dracula country’, as she calls it – the former sandwich shop owner says that she has always had an interest in the supernatural.
She said: ‘This Airbnb is because people are bored of boring places and bland hotels!

Visitors in Camelia’s first month have included couples looking for a getaway, birthday presents and even professors from the local university.
‘You can build a Hilton but it will not give you the thrills that a place like this will – we don’t just give people a place to stay we give them an experience.
‘I was born in Romania and I have Dracula’s blood in my vein. I have always had a passion about spooky stories.
‘It took me exactly one month. My visitors enjoy it a lot – we have got very good reviews.

Another room has striped walls – just like Wednesday’s brother Pugsley’s shirts.
With an elaborate black chandelier and a big cross on the black sheet – each bed comes complete with a black rose.

She decided to create the wacky rooms while thinking back to her degree in tourism economics – and teachings about linking your hospitality to a local area.

York – the home of the inspiration for Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley – is the historic centre of modern Britain, with Vikings, Romans, Guy Fawkes and highwayman Dick Turpin all helping to write the city’s past.
Camelia first created her spooky brand alongside business partner Vincent Roberts after her sandwich shop Krusties folded during the pandemic.
A property developer, he helped her create a range of wacky rooms in the shadow of York Minster – including one styled after the Harry Potter films, another as an apocathery and a third in the guise of a mother witch’s Sorceryum.
She has since expanded and this is her first project on her own.
Camelia is now looking to add another floor – dedicated to Dracula with authentic decorations from her native home.
