Viewers of Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country slammed the ‘snobby’ presenter as they said her ‘spoilt kids’ were ‘on a different planet’ after they called their band ‘The Entitled Sons’.

The programme, which airs on Channel 4, follows Sarah as she transforms a semi-derelict former dairy farm on 220 acres of Somerset countryside into her luxury dream house – dubbed a ‘contemporary take on the classical English stately home’.

Last night’s episode episode saw Sarah, 50, husband Graham and their four boys Laurie, Charlie, 15, Rafferty, 13, and Billy, 12, tackle building a music room for their new home.

However many of those watching were unimpressed as the four boys revealed the name of their band, with one writing: ‘Did these kids really just stencil ‘The Entitled Sons’ on the wall. Really – Graham sees it as ‘self awareness?! Really!?’

Meanwhile another wrote: ‘Obviously not concerned about heating this palace. These spoilt kids are on a different planet!’

A third added: ‘Is there really a place for this show now? In 2022? With people choosing between heating and eating and prime time telly is a multi millionaire gloating, her fault?

‘No, poor test? In my opinion, yes, most definitely.’

Another commented: ‘Entitled or privileged? There’s a difference you know. Privileged can’t be helped. Entitled…Mmm not a good look.’

Many of those watching were unimpressed as Sarah’s four sons revealed the name of their band was ‘The Entitled Sons’

During the episode, the four boys explained they had formed a band, although they remained undecided on the name.

Laurie commented: ‘We wanted to call our band Entitled after the fact that we have all been born with a silver spoon shoved up our…’

With the band being such a big part of the family’s life, there was a plan for a music room in the new house.

Sarah explained: ‘They wanted a space for their own to have their musical instruments in and have their band in. They did also ask for things like a fireman’s pole and a helicopter pad.’

‘I do really want them to feel this is their home and they have had creative input and the music room is the space where they could really run with it.’

Soon the painters came in to decorate the space in a fresh white colour.

Sarah added: ‘I think it’s so lucky that Graham and I have been busy with other things, because I wouldn’t have been able to resist meddling around in the music room.

‘I did really want to take charge of it, but it is their room and it was always going to be their space. I’m hoping if we leave them alone, the end result will be okay!

Sarah’s four sons were given total control over how the room was decorated, with the presenter confessing they were in charge

‘Billy has definitely got an eye for detail but then Charlie is more interested. Charlie will spend hours talking about interior detailing.’

Meanwhile the boys gave the room it’s first layer of colour and chose the carpet, with Laurie explaining: ‘We’re thinking of a few ideas to make it exciting…

‘To be honest with you, we’re probably going to make a bit of a racket in here.’

Charlie said: ‘I  think we’re going to have some kind of decoration here, some kind of graffiti.’

Sarah admitted she felt it was ‘ lucky’ she and her husband had been busy with other rooms in the house because she wouldn’t have been able to resist meddling with the music room

However they found that the room sounded ‘echoey and horrible’ because of the size, and decided to add cork to the walls to make the acoustics sound ‘better.’

The four boys said the final step to the music room was creating a stencil on the wall with their band name, calling it the ‘icing on the cake.’

With a bit of trial and error, the boys got the stencil stuck into position, with Laurie saying: ‘I think Mum and Dad are going to be really impressed.’

Billy added: ‘I think it’s been really fun doing a room to ourselves.’

After the boys unveiled the room, Sarah said she was ‘quite impressed’ with the space and ‘loved’ the sign

Meanwhile Graham confessed: ‘It’s lovely to see them taking ownership of one particular space.’

After the boys unveiled the room to their parents, they said they were blown away by their efforts.

Sarah said: ‘I’m quite impressed actually. The purple goes so well with the blue. I love the sign, that is so fantastic.’

Meanwhile the father-of-four said he was also impressed with the stencil.

He added: ‘I absolutely love the name they have chosen for the band and they are saying, this is us and we know how lucky we are.’
