We’ve all felt that moment of regret when we spill something on our carpet – from red wine, to ketchup or even a bowl of cereal.
It can be tough to remove dark coloured stains or the rank smell of dried in food because the carpet can’t be chucked in the washing machine or soaked in the bath.
Luckily, cleaning obsessives in a Mrs Hinch Facebook group came to the rescue of a woman in a pickle with their carpet stain removal tips.
Mrs Hinch, known as Sophie Hinchliffe, has a whopping 4.1million instagram subscribers who love her cleaning and organisation tips.
Fans of Sophie, known as ‘Hinchers’ have created dozens of forums and groups to discuss their favourite tips.
In one such group, a Facebook poster asked how to get tomato soup out of her carpet, reports the Express.
She said: “Someone please help me! Or do I need a miracle?
“A full bowl of tomato and basil soup on a nearly brand new cream carpet, at my rented flat, less than a month before I’m due to move out… any ideas?”

And, the most common solution was to use Dr Beckmann carpet stain remover which costs just £2.79 on Amazon.
One poster wrote: said: “Dr Beckmann is brilliant!
“My son dropped a bowl of tomato pasta bake on his carpet it got it all out. Good luck.”
While another added: "Dr Beckmann is a miracle cleaner – saved my carpet a few times.”
A third said: “I agree with the people saying Dr Beckmann.
“We have a very light cream carpet and our cat – who's very rarely sick – was sick on it when it was brand new – a huge pile of bright orange sick and Dr Beckmann took it out.
“He did the same on the hall carpet when it was brand new and you'd never know. Hope you get it out.”
And, some said that the remover even worked on old, dried in stains.
To use the product, the Dr Beckmann website stated: “First time use: Twist off applicator and pierce seal. Replace applicator securely.
"Remove loose dirt and blot spill on the stained area. Then shake bottle before use and squeeze gently to moisten the applicator brush.
“Apply by holding the bottle so the applicator is flat against the soiled area – do not soak, let the foam do the work.
“Leave for three minutes and then with a damp white cloth, gently remove all residues of the stain and the solution. Heavy soiling may need a second application.”

Other suggestions from Mrs Hinch fans included using Elbow Grease spray, washing powder and salty water.
Many noted that cold water was best as using hot water can soak stains further into the fibres.
And, another cleaning fan added: “Spray pure peroxide on it.
“May take several applications. It will not bleach the carpet.
“Otherwise professional shampoo-ing with a stain pretreat.”
