Martine McCutcheon has offered a glimpse inside her home as renovations are well underway.
The former EastEnders star, 47, took to Instagram to share an update in the form of two selfies. Posing in front of a detailed mirror in her hallway, Martine was all smiles in a pair of wide leg jeans and a white vest top, with a pair of Birkenstock clogs.
She kept her dark locks swept up off her face in a high bun and completed the look with a pair of oversized sunglasses. In the background of the images, a vast room with bare plastered walls is visible.
It’s in stark contrast to the Love Actually actress’s chic monochromatic hallway. Self-aware Martine declared she’s “not normal” after admitting she’s enjoying the aroma and feel of the drying plaster. Captioning the photos, she said: “The builders have been here again today – Plaster all over the walls and I kinda like it!”
The singer and mum-of-one elaborated on her enjoyment as work on her home continues: “Ive moved house A LOT! I’m obsessed with plaster! [laughing emoji] I love the smell and consistency – wet and dry… See? I’m not normal! [wobbly smile emoji]”.
The star explained it’ll be a while until her home’s transformation is complete, but she’s happy to see her “vision” coming to life. She continued: “We have a long way to go with things – I can’t wait to share more with you but I’m really starting to see my vision for our home come together. [clapping hands, hearts face and grinning emojis]”.
In reference to the stylish black and white flooring spotted in her images, Martine said: “I’m in love with our tiled floor we’ve had done already! Every time I come downstairs I smile! [hearts face emoji]” I’m realising that there are so many beautiful styles and ideas out there to distract me though! [laughing emoji, monkey covering eyes emoji]”.
The Perfect Moment singer, who shares an eight year old son, Rafferty, with her husband, singer-songwriter Jack McManus, referenced her acting career as reasoning behind her desire to explore a range of styles in her home, as well as her wardrobe.
She added: "As an actress, I love to dip in to different styles with fashion and interiors but longer term, I think it’s good to stick with what you truly love and also work with what suits the house…
"Even if it means scrapping loads of ideas off Pinterest and keeping it simple! Today I wanted to wear things mega comfy, chilled and cool. Trying to take it easy despite the crazy building work going on!"
