AMERICAN Gods, the fantasy drama based on Neil Gaiman’s beloved novel, is now back for its second season. You can finally find out what’s next for key characters, Shadow and Mr Wednesday.

The show could look quite different this time around since the original showrunners, Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, as well as star Gillian Anderson, departed after the first season.

The new creative mind behind American Gods, Jesse Alexander, has taken his time (two years) to get season two ready, so it’s got to be a worthwhile watch. And there is a way of watching American Gods completely free.

This new series will continue to follow the battle between the Old Gods and New Gods and you’ll watch as Mr Wednesday, played once again by Ian McShane, continues his quest for an all-out war.

In a video announcing American Gods’ return, author Gaiman said: “Things are going to get darker, things are going to get more dangerous.”

He also told Variety: “It’s definitely taken a while to get season two out but it takes a while to get good [episodes].

“I think we’d all rather have it good than have it quicker.”

Showmaker Jesse Alexander who picked up the second season is no longer with the project and instead, Charles ‘Chic’ Eglee has taken the helm for round three as Showmaker and Executive Producer.

Gaiman said: “I’m thrilled American Gods has been renewed for a third season, and even more thrilled that I’m getting to work on it with Chic Eglee,” according to Variety.

“Chic is the best partner-in-crime. We’ve been working for weeks now on the shape of the season and I’m delighted that he gets to carry the American Gods torch on to glory.”
