An adventurer from Wales who completed a record-breaking 102 iron-endurance triathlons is as many days decided to spend his first day off doing…an iron-endurance triathlon.

Sean Conway, 43, from the county of Flintshire, turned up at Mold Leisure Centre just one day after smashing the world record – telling fans on social media ‘you didn’t think I was going to stop at 102, did you?’

The adventurer, who has a beard and cap combo not dissimilar to running icon Forrest Gump’s, has swum 2.4 miles, cycled 112 miles and run 26 miles every day since April 10th, and is clearly finding it hard to break the habit.

Turning up at his local pool in a Day 103 hat, the father-of-two said: ‘Today’s gonna be an interesting one – first I’m doing where I don’t “technically” have to be here…Let’s see what happens’.

Conway has taken his body to the limit, swimming 2.4 miles, cycling 112 miles and running 26 miles every day since April 10th – but he was back at it again today, despite having smashed the world record yesterday

After breaking the record on Thursday, Conway called the challenge the ‘toughest three months of my life’, saying: ‘I wouldn’t wish what I’ve been through on my worst enemy but I’m so proud of what the team and I have achieved.’

The gruelling endeavour is raising money for the True Venture Foundation, which helps young people access sporting opportunities.

Here we go again! Despite calling the charity challenge the ‘toughest three months of my life’, Conway was back in the water at Mold swimming pool on Friday

Conway revealed on Thursday that he’d had to consume up to 8,000 calories a day – including snacks of welsh cakes, double cream and cheese – just to keep his body in fuel for the challenge.

After completing the challenge yesterday, he told fans that he had initially thought he wouldn’t succeed, after dropping out on day 7 of a previous challenge.

Conway told supporters that he’d be enjoying some r&r after breaking the record, saying he would be watching the Tour de France ‘from scratch’ – but apparently had other ideas when he woke up this morning.
