Elon Musk is ensuring “Saturday Night Live” fans around the world catch his guest spot tonight with a YouTube livestream that will broadcast the show “in select countries and territories.”
The billionaire shared a link to the stream Saturday afternoon just hours before making his “SNL” debut, where he’ll hit the stage alongside musical guest, Miley Cyrus.
“Tonight’s live stream of Saturday Night Live with host Elon Musk is only available in select countries and territories,” reads the description of the video posted on “SNL’s official YouTube page. “U.S. audiences can watch live via local television broadcast or cable provider on NBC.com and the NBC App.”
A press release provided clarity, adding that, “over 100 countries around the world” will be able to stream via the link, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, the United Kingdom and more.
The idea could have possibly stemmed from conversation during dinner Tuesday night, where Musk, 49, exchanged pleasantries with “SNL” producers and cast members including Pete Davidson, Colin Jost, Kenan Thompson, Chris Redd, Ego Nwodim and Chloe Fineman.
This contradicts rumors that cast members took issue with Musk’s guest appearance.
Musk pointed us toward an interview Michael Che gave to the radio show “The Breakfast Club,” in which he supported the Tesla honcho as host, saying “It’s a rich man’s world — of course I want to meet him.”
The comic said: “I am getting so much done, I am going to give him so many ideas … It’s fun. It’s exciting working with the richest man in the world.”
As for any controversy, Che said having Musk host is “cool, it’s polarizing. I like when the show has some edge.”
“Saturday Night Live” airs tonight at 11:30 p.m. ET.
