A comedian has tried his hand at becoming the London Underground’s new announcer, with hilarious results.

Adrian Gray posted a video on Twitter in which he ‘reveals’ that he has been given the opportunity to record new announcements on the tube platforms, appearing thrilled with his new ‘job opportunity’.

He wrote: ‘Unbelievably I am the new voice of the London Underground announcements. Thank you such @TfL (sic) for making this happen :)’

As part of the comedy sketch, he reads out announcements and statements that he jokes he has been given by Transport for London to ‘practise’ for his new role – which take a dark turn very quickly.

After posting the video on his Twitter account @AdrianRMG, viewers responded to wish Adrian ‘good luck’ with his ‘new job’, with one person joking: ‘Sometimes dreams really can come true.’

The video opens with Adrian, dressed in a white t-shirt, sounding humble as he reveals he has been given the new job opportunity.

He says: ‘So I can’t quite believe this but I am literally going to be the voice of the tube announcements on the London Underground.’

Adrian goes on to reveal his new employers, Transport for London, have given him a ‘long list’ of phrases they want him to pre-record for the role, which he then demonstrates.

Adrian Gray, a comedian based in the UK, posted a comical video on Twitter claiming he was the new London Underground announcer, and read out some joking statements that he claimed TfL, his ‘new employer’ had given him to ‘practise’

Adrian joked he was to become the ‘new voice’ of the London Underground in his funny Twitter video

The comedian begins by reading out announcements with which all London Underground passengers are familiar, including: ‘Please mind the gap between the train and the platform edge’ and ‘Please mind the closing doors.’

However, the announcements quickly become a little more unorthodox as Adrian announces: ‘There is a wild animal on the train. Please do not feed it.’

He then reveals the wild animal out on the loose in the tube carriages is an ‘unusually large rat’ before warning: ‘Whoever fed the rat – you’ve made it angry and violent.’

In a development that tube passengers will (hopefully) be less familiar with, he then adds: ‘The rat’s eyes are glowing red and it’s frothing at the mouth.’

The increasingly bizarre scenario Adrian describes with his ‘announcements’ quickly turns dark as the ‘rat’ in question is attacking an ‘old man with a cane’.

As the spoof announcements become increasingly weird, viewers can determine that the demonic rat has killed all but one passenger on the tube, leaving a survivor called Jennifer.

The comedian then narrates a very flirty love story between the tube driver and the surviving passenger.

At the end of the video, Adrian jokes that he has received an email from TfL who have ‘sent [him] the wrong script’ and he feigns relief.

However, as he begins reading the ‘real script’ which says that aliens have landed, he jokes: ‘I’m not even going to bother.’
