A church leader whose wife is an adult actress says he supports her racy career that sees her bonk other men.

Stephen Dela Cruz has been married to Christy Love for 14 years and the pair once went to bible school together. They are both now pastors at a Christian church.

But Christy has been shamed for also being a sex worker and in the past the lovers have been kicked out of two prayer communities after members exposed her webcamming exploits.

Tired of being shunned, they set up their own judgement free church in San Diego that is “for sinners by sinners” where anyone is welcome. And despite his wife being a porn star, Stephen believes it holds no bearing on their religious responsibilities.

He said: “I believe God created sex and it was his intention and so we as humans have just made it such a taboo thing. It’s more of a western thing – in Asian cultures it's a normal thing.”

Stephen, speaking on Tanya Tate’s Skinfluencer Success podcast, continued: “You only have one life, why not enjoy it, and sex is part of that. We all have our cravings.

“I’m a hypnotherapist by profession and so there are certain chemicals in our brain we need to release those happy hormones, the endorphins, serotonin, we need to release that to survive and sex is part of chemical hormones in our brain to be happy, to live life.

“It’s part of our nature. If god, or whoever it is you call god, didn’t want us to have this craving, then why did he create it, why did he make it part of our being?

“If we are created by the almighty, whoever the almighty is for you, why did he give us this craving and need and not let us have it? You have this craving but can’t have it? That’s just torture, this is earth not hell!”

Stephen and Christy first got together 18 years ago and they are now in an open relationship. After graduating bible school, they dreamed of setting up a church but were financially broke.

Their parents were paying for their rent and Christy found a solution when she spotted an ad on Craigslist about webcamming. Remembering the life-changing moment, Stephen said: “I love her so much, she is such a bubbly person and she asked me about this aspect at the beginning.

“It was interesting that she wanted to get into webcamming for money. We were really hurting, 08 09, the economy crash really affected us huge.

“We moved to San Diego in 2011 and our parents were paying for our rent, that was how bad it was. It was so so bad. It was an interesting ride. Definitely got to say, this industry has made her so much more stronger.”

But it was a bumpy start after church goers exposed Christy’s side hustle. She herself recalled: “This was the first time where I wanted to end my life and commit suicide. I was the lowest I have ever been. I knew I was called to the ministry and I knew being in the adult industry was just a period to make money and a period of survival and the moment that was taken away I felt like my purpose was taken away.

“And if I had no purpose then why am I here on earth and that was a very dreadful and horrifying time. We never lost our faith, we left the church and started attending another church.

“I kept having this craving because I loved performing, loved webcamming and I loved my fans. I told my husband 'what do you think of going back into it' and truth be told the money was very nice too.”

Another prayer group then gave them the boot before they eventually set up Living Faith Church – a small number of people gather in person, while up to 7,000 attend online each Sunday.

Christly, who also went on to do sex scenes with professional performers, explained what their church was all about. She said: “We just prayed about it and said you know, let’s start a church for people who wouldn’t feel welcomed in the church. So everyone who the church would reject, let's do it.

“We are non judgemental and our whole church knows that we have an open marriage and I am still active in the industry and it is a really non judgemental place.

“You sometimes have to go through the pain to really find your purpose and I am so grateful for all the pain, the hate from people and all the judgement because I feel like I am so much stronger and I feel like I am in a place where I can really love people instead of going through a lens of judgement so I am grateful for everything I went through.”
