Cadbury makes MAJOR change to chocolate bar packaging

CADBURY has made a major change to its chocolate bar packaging – with new resealable packs to encourage healthier eating.

The firm will introduce 'memory technology' on Duo range favourites like Dairy Milk, Double Decker, Wispa and Boost in a bid to encourage 'mindful' eating.

The innovative move will let snackers lock the wrapper with a simple twist and 'save half for later'.

Owner Mondelez said the new seal will not reduce flavour, texture or shape and that prices would stay at 80p.

Boss Kelly Lawrence said: "We want Cadbury fans to be able to snack in a more mindful way, and we are excited to see what they think of this new product.

"Duos twist and seal are a great option for when you want to indulge in a sweet treat and then easily reseal and save the remainder of the product for later."

She added: "Or, if you’re feeling extra generous, why not share with friends and family.

"Following good results during concept testing, we're excited to announce the new packaging this year.

"We've put a lot of time and investment into our portionable packaging as a way of empowering consumers to snack in a more mindful way, and we are excited to see what shoppers think."

Cadbury's isn't the only one to make changes to it's packaging.

Morrisons launched new product labels asking customers to recycle, reuse or recycle packaging in store in 2019.

Discount supermarket Aldi brought in clear, plastic recyclable trays for selected fresh produce ranges, in a move to save an estimated 265 tonnes of packaging a year.
