What were they doing that resulted in a passive aggressive message to be left on the appliance in the first place?
Well, brace yourselves…
Someone had been putting tea bags into the kettle and then boiling the water instead of putting them into a mug.
A photo of the disgruntled office worker’s handmade note attached to the kettle was posted onto Twitter account No Context Brits.
In the stark warning penned in red felt tip along with a prominent full stop, the Brit declared: “Please do not put tea bags in kettle.”
Shocked at the atrocity, many Brits fled to the comments to share their horror at the non-traditional tea making enthusiast.
One person commented: “I’m shaken.”
Another user added: “They did WHAT???”
While a third person voiced: “They have to be told.”
Someone else remarked: “Americans who moved to England perhaps?”
However, some people did not have a problem with the choice of putting the bags in the kettle. While others even admitted to using the appliance to make food.
One person remarked: “It’s the most efficient way to make 8 cups of tea. What’s the problem?”
A second user reckoned: “But pasta is okay!”
This person noted: “Just pour a whole pot noodle in instead. Saves time.”
As a fourth user claimed: “I put hotdogs in the kettle at work several times. Hey, have to make do when there is no kitchen eh?”
