B&M has launched a cooling mattress protector for £10 for a double in just in time for summer.
The Downland Stay Cool Mattress Protector is available in B&M stores, with prices starting at £8 for a single, rising to £12 for a king-size.
B&M is also selling a £6 cooling pillow cover to complete the set.
The bargain retailer said the mattress cover is made from a “super comfy” microfibre material, and wicks away moisture to keep you cool throughout the night.
It has been launched just in time for a spell of hot weather, with temperatures across the UK soaring this week, reaching 27 degrees in London.
How to compare prices to get the best deal
JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.
There are plenty of comparison websites out there that'll check prices for you – so don't be left paying more than you have to.
Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.
Here are some that we recommend:
- Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
- Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
- Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
- CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.
Argos also has a cooling mattress protector in stock, and the single size is on sale with a third off at just £6.66.
Doubles, king size and super-king are available at full price for £12, £14 and £16 respectively.
The store also offers home delivery, starting from £3.95 for small items.
Marks & Spencer is selling a similar product with a higher price tag of £25 to £39.50, depending on the size of your bed, with delivery starting at £3.50 – or free on orders over £50.
B&M doesn’t offer online shopping, so you will have to head to your local store to snap up the cooling mattress topper.
You can find your nearest B&M branch by using the firm’s online store locator.
Other shops have started launching their summer products as the weather heats up, such as Tesco's range of inflatable sprinkler and garden toys.
Aldi is selling a bedding set with cooling technology to keep you cool over the warmer months.
And here is a round-up of the cheapest sun loungers on the high street this week.
