It's one of the UK’s most well-loved shows, where celebrities are paired up with professional dancers to compete for the Glitterball Trophy.
However, behind the scenes on Strictly Come Dancing, the intense training regimes can often lead to tension and falling outs between the co-stars, dancers, and judges.
Over the years, fans have even claimed to notice tensions arise between certain cast members during the live shows and some pro dancers have even come out to admit that they didn't like their celebrity partners very much at all.
While many make close bonds and friends for life on the BBC One show, others are glad to see the back of their co-stars when it’s all over.
Let’s delve into some of the biggest falling outs, public spats, and feuds from over the years.
Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice
Giovanni Pernice was reportedly taken by surprise when Amanda Abbington decided to leave the show.
Rumours of a disagreement between the two began swirling, but neither directly addressed the claims.
Amanda announced she was stepping down from the competition due to personal reasons following a 'medical issue.'
Sources claimed Giovanni, 33, had no prior warning about the surprising decision.
Fans also noticed that Amanda, 49, didn't mention her dance partner when she expressed her "deepest regret" for leaving on social media, leading many to believe there's a feud.
A source told the Daily Star: "Amanda didn't tell Giovanni she had decided to quit the show. The first he heard was a call from a producer.
"This has really annoyed him. He's barely heard from her for 10 days. She hasn't been replying to messages or telling him what's happening. "
Amy Dowden and Danny John-Jules
Red Dwarf star Danny John-Jules and Amy Dowden reportedly did not get along, leading to allegations that Strictly bosses had to warn Danny about “bullying” behaviour towards Amy.
A source told The Sun that Danny had ‘blamed her’ for them not being booked on the Strictly Tour.
They added: “They don’t talk, they don’t look at each other and when they aren’t being forced to dance together they are on separate sides of the room.”
Amy broke down in tears when she addressed the feud on It Takes Two, with Danny refusing to show up for an interview.
The professional dancer insisted that she had never felt “threatened or bullied by him."
Danny later broke his silence insisting that the BBC had now revealed that Amy had sustained an injury meaning he had to rehearse with a stand-in.
He said: “The week that I made the mistake that everyone came down like a ton of bricks, the judges knew that I hadn’t danced with my partner that week.”
Katya Jones and Nadiya Bychkova
Professional dancers Katya Jones and Nadiya Bychkova reportedly clashed backstage during a Strictly tour together.
Sources claimed that Katya, 34, didn’t like the attention Nadiya was getting, after she began a romance with fellow Strictly star Kai Widdrington.
A source told The Sun: "Katya is used to being the one everyone is talking about on the show and has been struggling a bit this year.
“Nadiya has become the hot topic this tour, leaving Katya telling pals she is a bit jealous."
Ola Jordan and Kristina Rihanoff
Professional dancers Ola Jordan and Kristina Rihanoff also reportedly had a falling out behind the scenes, which was said to be behind both dancers leaving in 2016.
A source told the Sun: “Ola and Kristina were friends but jealousy took over and it created an incredibly uncomfortable atmosphere.”
But Kristina later claimed the speculation was “silly” and insisted that she had a good relationship with everyone on the show.
Craig Revel Horwood and Brendan Cole
Craig Revel Horwood famously joked that he and Brendan Cole ‘hated each other’ on the show.
The judge and professional dancer often had tension on screen, with Brendan quick to challenge Craig’s feisty feedback.
The pair were understood to also struggle to see eye to eye when they were both cast as judges on the New Zealand version of the show.
When Brendan was eliminated from the show in 2018, Craig claims he tried to extend an olive branch by inviting him for lunch – but was rejected.
He told Kate Thornton on her White Wine Question Time podcast: "I hadn't spoken to him for years. I thought, 'wouldn't it be nice to see Brendan, just to see if he's working',"
“Anyway, he had an electric car. He was showing that off. We hated each other."
Fern Britton and Artem Chigvintsev
TV presenter Fern Britton accused her dance partner Artem Chigvintsev of being too aggressive with her.
She claimed that when she took part in the 2012 show, he would “kick” and “shove” her during rehearsals.
She told The Times: “He was like: ‘Shut your face. Go home before I kill you.' “I would say, ‘Oh please just kill me, it would be easier.'"
But Artem denied the claims later, saying that he treated Fern with “respect and genuine care”, insisting that her comments didn’t reflect “any situation” he can recall.
Greg Wallace and Aliona Vilani
Masterchef star Greg Wallace blamed his dance partner Aliona Vilani for being booted off the 2014 season.
He said: “I love dancing, but if I were paired with somebody who liked me then I would have done better.”
Aliona responded by retweeting fans' messages calling for her to be paired with someone better in the future.
One of the tweets read: “someone please give Aliona a decent partner next year”.
She went on to win the show the following year with The Wanted star Jay McGuinness before quitting Strictly for good.
Brendan Cole and Anastacia
Singing sensation Anastacia took part in the show not long after recovering from breast cancer treatment.
She allegedly became upset with her partner Brendan after his tough training regime led to her ripping her mastectomy scars.
She later confirmed that they had clashed during rehearsals, saying: "We’ve definitely had some conversations, I won’t lie about that. “I think we’re both two very strong-minded individuals in a process, but we get along very, very well.”
She then admitted that she had kept in touch with almost everyone from the show except Brendan.
Brendan Cole and Lulu
Brendan Cole also didn’t get along with Scottish singing legend Lulu in 2011 and branded her “not a nice person.”
Lulu said: "I worked with someone [on Strictly] with whom I wasn’t really compatible, so that was very hard."
Brendan also told the Loose Women cast that she was his worst partner ever, saying: she was “not a particularly nice person”
“Blooming awful,” he said. “But she felt the same about me, so it’s alright."
