Explaining the process, Lara said she had initially set herself over two weeks to create the cake, however after a flair up of a pre-existing medical condition – her time was cut to just five days.

Speaking in a TikTok video four days before Christmas, she said: ‘I set myself a challenge of building this guy, life-sized out of cake before Christmas in 17 days.

‘I have a lifelong condition that made me a little bit poorly, which cut 12 days off my total time I had to build it, which was fine because I could probably still manage until I started feeling poorly about four days ago.

‘I took a Covid test and it was positive. It wasn’t too bad really because I could still carry on working on the cake since it was just for a display.

‘However I was relying on friends and family to look after the kids while I did the cake because it’s the school holidays which obviously they can’t do now, because I had to isolate. My husband is also a key worker and had to go back today.

‘I am feeling a little bit better than I am yesterday so I am going to try and crack on with the cake but I have absolutely no idea how much i’m actually going to get done’.
