GOING to your local pub is a favourite pastime for Brits on a Bank Holiday.
Opening times will vary, so be sure to check before venturing out to ensure you get that Bank Holiday pint.
Are pubs open for the August Bank Holiday?
Many pubs throughout the UK receive requests for work and family meals over Bank Holidays.
Quite a few remain open for this busy period, but some choose to close to give their staff time off to rest.

Wetherspoons pubs' opening hours vary from boozer to boozer so it's always worth checking ahead to see if your local will be open.
You can do this by using the chain's locator tool on its website, or you can always pick up the phone and call.
We checked out the opening hours of several Wetherspoons pubs online and they are all open over the Bank Holiday.
It's worth noting opening hours can change, so it's best to call ahead and double-check.

Greene King has over 300 pubs in London and 2,600 in the UK.
Opening times over the May Bank Holiday weekend will vary depending on location.
But again, you can check the pub locator on its website which shows you when your local is open.
Mitchells and Butlers
Mitchells and Butlers own some of the most popular pubs in the UK including Harvester and Toby Carvery.
Like Greene King, opening times over the Bank Holiday period vary across M&B's pubs so you should check out either Harvester's or Toby Carvery's websites.
You can use their locator tools to find your nearest pub and the opening times.
You just have to enter your postcode, location or the venue you want to go to.
